Welcome to 2026
A new year, and new beginnings! We are happy to share the inaugural edition of the Utah RC Raceline Report. A brand new monthly newsletter that will share Utah RC related news and events. The Utah RC Raceline Report is produced and published by the Lehi RC Club. Though produced locally, this newsletter will cover the entire state (not just our region). All RC activities will be included including RC Flying, Bashing, Floating, Crawling and Racing. Follow us on our website to keep up-to-date on RC activity in Utah.
A Free Community Resource Covering Utah RC News and Events
The Utah Raceline Report is a free resource produced by the Utah RC community, for the community. Our goal is to help grow and build the hobby. Utah is home to a vibrant RC scene, and we think it is about time all of the amazing things you do as a community get highlighted and shared. That's what this newsletter is all about. We aren't trying to sell you anything, generate revenue, or turn a buck. We simply want to share our passion for the world of RCs. We've gotten to know so many of you across the state. We believe that, while we do like all the RCs, it is the people that really matter. We want you to know your contributions mean something, and they are appreciated.
LRCC Update
Over the last month the Lehi RC Club (LRCC) has been busy behind the scenes working on a number of initiatives we hope will help grow the club and support our members. A major update for us is the launch of the LRCC website, lehirc.club. This site will allow us to post information for those we cannot reach on social media, raise the visibility of our group on search engines, and provide a platform to host guides, resources, and more. We still have much to build out. The site is available for sign-ups (free), and we encourage everyone to check out some of the functionality. Expect to hear more as the year progresses.
2026 Lehi Utah RC Event Planning
The best way to grow the club is to hold events. We are exploring a few ideas and would love to get your feedback. What kind of events would you be interested in? Here are some options we are considering:
Club Nights: Monthly club meeting with a presenter talking about a build they've done, explaining a dedicated topic like how to tune a micro crawler, setting up shocks for ultimate performance, or LiPo battery tips.
Crawling Events: A local opportunity to get out and crawl, perfect for those that have busy schedules.
Exclusive Experiences: Partnering with other RC groups to provide unique RC events for club members.
Community Volunteering: Working with local cities to develop RC facilities such as crawler courses, race tracks, and more. Could also include a STEM related educational opportunity.
Utah RC News
UPDATE: SUSPECTS ARRESTED!!! - We are sad to report that A Mad Man's Hobby Store in Lehi, Utah was the victim of a robbery. During the event, an employee was run over by the suspects fleeing the scene resulting in severe injury. This is a deeply troubling story and we encourage all local RC enthusiasts to be on the lookout for the suspects. Contact the Lehi Police Department if you see them.

Lehi RC Club member Kaden M. has permission to setup an outdoor RC track on private property in Lehi. More details as this opportunity unfolds.
We successfully ran RC boats at the Jordan River Reservoir by Willow Park. It does require walking in a little, but it isn't far. There is plenty of room for boat racing and faster boats. The water was clean and smooth, great for small boats.

An RC boat prepped and ready to head out to the lake. Professional RC racers Broc Champlin and Domnic Paccione took podium spots at the JConcepts Clash of Champions race in Indiana. Broc is a world champion RC driver, and Domnic is a national champion. We are very proud of their success and the fact they both call Utah home. Something is up over at Tower Hobbies. This on-line retailer is owned by RC mega-brand Horizon Hobby. Recently several major brands have broken ties with them including Team Associated, Vanquish, JConcepts, FastEddy, and more. If you have reward points, they are probably going to be worthless real soon. As we learn more we will update this post. https://www.towerhobbies.com/
UPDATE: PRE-ORDER HERE (https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/AXI-2260.html) In a scoop, the Lehi RC Club spotted the first pictures of the new SCX30 K10 on Horizon's website. Here is a pic from them. We will for sure be getting one.
